Woodwork has been the love of my life for over three decades.
I have been designing and building furniture and specialty woodwork since 1974. The following pieces were made, almost entirely, from hardwoods found locally, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. In many cases these are one-of-a-kind. Copies of the designs can be, and have been, made from other slabs of wood, so the furniture has the same basic structural design but differs according to the individual wood used.
My primary intent is to expose the character and beauty of the wood without much interference from me. In that spirit, I want to show and maybe even showcase markings and scars. The tree lives on.
